Coach Stream

All Head Coaches at the house league level are required to have the Coach Stream course. The Assistant coaches are not required to take the course but it is highly recommended. All assistant coaches in competitive hockey must have their Coach Stream certification. (Coach Stream was previously known as 'Coach Level 1')

Developmental 1

NMHA requires that all Competitive Head Coaches have a minimum of Developmental 1 Certification. (Developmental 1 was previously known as 'Coach Level 3' or 'Intermediate Level') Coach Classifications

Trainer

The minimum certification to be a Trainer is the Trainer I level, as specified by Hockey Canada and by the ODHA.

Speak Out

NMHA requires that all team volunteers attend a Speak Out Clinic. You are only required to attend the Speak Out once. If you are not sure if you have attended this in the past or if you are unsure if you require a new police check, Jane Shepherd, the Risk and Safety director, can tell you. The police check is good for three years.
