House League Coach Mentor Description
The purpose of the Coach Mentor position is to provide all coaches with the resources and support necessary to further develop their skills as minor hockey coaches.
All House League coaches within the Nepean Minor Hockey Association will have access to the designated Coach Mentor capable of providing the skills, knowledge, and support that may be required to help improve their coaching performance.
The NMHA is seeking a qualified candidate to act as a Coach Mentor and assist with the development of minor hockey coaches from October 1, 2019 to March 31st, 2020. The proposed position is initially for one season, with potential to extend on a year by year basis subject to success in the position and NMHA Board approval. The NMHA anticipates that the position will require 10 to 15 hours per week, however the higher work load will likely be earlier in the season.
Duties will include:
‐ Facilitate coach introductory on ice sessions at the beginning of the season
‐ Provide guidance, support and assistance to all house league coaches as required
‐ Assist in practice plan development and on‐ice instructions.
‐ Provide monthly progress reports to the NMHA VP of House
