Nepean Minor Hockey Association

Beginning in 2019-2020 Novice will change to a half-ice, 4-on-4 format.

For our top-level players we will be offering 2 teams at the Tier 1 level (formerly competitive) and tryouts for these teams will be held in August.

The Tier 1 teams will play in  a Division hosted by the AA/A League. Besides the Nepean Raiders, the Ottawa Valley Silver Seven, Kanata Blazers, Upper Ottawa Valley Aces, Ottawa Sting, Gloucester Rangers, Cumberland Grads, Eastern Ontario Cobras and Rideau St. Lawrence Kings have all indicated that they will be fielding Tier 1 teams beginning in 2019-2020.  Current plans call for a 30-game schedule with a year-end Jamboree in late March hosted by the League. There will no be playoffs at the Novice level. The Tier 1 teams will consist of 16 skaters and 2 goaltenders. For each game, the team will be divided in half for each game, with each team having eight players and a goaltender on each side of the ice.  At the half, the visiting team will switch ends/sides.Teams are allowed to attend tournaments as long as they are 4-on-4 and sanctioned by Hockey Canada. Teams will not be allowed to compete in Atom tournaments or in any full-ice tournament.
