We have developed this years program to deliver tangible feedback both for personal goal setting but also to reflect on where you may rank in certain areas amongst your peers. Additionally the information collected through off ice testing and on ice testing will supply us with a baseline to compare how players develop from April into August where we will retest at the main tryouts.
What to Expect:
Off Ice testing - The spring fitness combine for the Myers AAA organization seeks to identify each player's fitness levels. Off-ice testing will allow coaches to evaluate, track, and compare hockey specific measurements that attribute to a player's development and growth potential. Each fitness test is designed based on transferable hockey patterns which will provide a strong reflection of a player's on ice capabilities. The same tests will be retested in the August main tryout program.
On Ice Testing - On ice testing will provides assessments to measure and improve your athletes. Athletes will receive real data regarding your players true strengths and weaknesses. Specific testing protocols will be used to measure the below areas in particular:
Goalies - Will receive on specific on-ice goalie evaluation and will be provided goalie specific feedback around these areas:
On Ice Scrimmages - Inter squad scrimmage will be the chance for players to be viewed and evaluated by their prospective coach. This opportunity should be used as a chance to demonstrate not only your individual intangible skills but also to show case your ability to play the game a structured game and demonstrate your level of compete.
